This brown jewellery box has a cream-coloured velvet lining. It originally held a parure of jewels, consisting of a tiara, necklace, and earrings. The bottom has a sticker with a handwritten line that I cannot decipher: I like to imagine that it carries the name of the original owner!
A similar box can be found in the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, object number BK-1978-886-5.
