This 18k yellow gold lavalier necklace is formed by oval, round, and tear-shaped links. Each link is open and decorated with several pieces of gold wire, a technique known as filigree.
Lavalier necklaces are designed with an integrated pendant or drop. These types of necklaces were made popular by the Duchesse de la Vallière, a mistress of King Louis XIV of France.
