This rare three-stone ring from the late 1700s is in pristine condition and therefore very wearable! It is set with a table-cut garnet, which has a rich, reddish-purple colour. The sides of the shank are open-worked and decorated with two old mine-cut diamonds and tiny Fleur-de-Lis decorations.
All gemstones are set in closed, silver settings. Traditionally, this was done because silver helps bring out the brilliance of the diamonds, while the gold shank prevents the silver from tarnishing and potentially staining skin or clothing.
