This silver statement ring is actually a brooch conversion. The large, kite-shaped front was originally a brooch, of which the fitting was removed, and a silver shank added.
The front is centered by an oval rose-cut diamond that measures 7.7 x 6 mm. Although it is notoriously difficult to estimate rose-cut diamonds in their settings, I conservatively estimate its weight at 0.55 carats.
Most of the diamonds have a brownish appearance: I believe that this is not the actual colour of the diamonds, but that the foils behind the diamonds have gotten wet, creating a brownish patina over time.
