These Victorian earrings are made from horn, which was a popular material for all sorts of items in the 19th Century. When heated, it can easily be molded into shapes, as was done with these circular discs. Each has been decorated with the monogram 'ETE' and dangles from a chain, which is made up of gold, interspered with one elongated iron link.
