This project started with one single, antique earring, found discarded. I have sourced ouroboros hoops before, but never so small and delicate as this one.
I immediately felt compelled to create more versions, made from a cast of the original. All hoops are cast in recycled 14kt yellow gold, and made in exactly the same way as the antique original, with a hinged tension closure.
The ouroboros symbol of a snake biting its own tail, has been known for millennia. It is used as a symbol in different cultures to symbolize the circle of life, wholeness, and infinity.
These hoops are available as single earrings and as pairs. There is a plain 14k gold version, and a version that is set with a round rose-cut diamond of 2.4 mm diameter.
