This beautiful bar brooch is centered by a small bouton pearl, which has not been tested but is likely of natural origin.
The shoulders of the brooch are set with a row of rose-cut diamonds in closed, platinum settings, and are terminated by 18k yellow gold depictions of ivy leaves.
In the 19th Century, flowers were often used to convey specific meanings. The ivy, which steadfastly grows upwards, was used as a symbol of devotion, fidelity, and loyalty.
