This 19th Century ring is made from 14k yellow gold and set with five rose-cut diamonds in silver settings. The diamond setting takes up about half of the ring band and therefore its design is also known as a 'half-hoop'. The gold ring band has a pretty, branch-like detailing that comes together at the back.
Traditionally, diamonds were set in silver settings to optically enhance their colour and brilliance, while the backs and shanks were made in gold, to prevent the silver from tarnishing and staining your skin.
The diamonds range from 4.25 to 3.5 mm in diameter and combined, they have an estimated weight of 0.60 carats.
