This large swirl brooch has a 14k yellow gold back and a silver front. Traditionally, this was done because the silver enhances the colour of the diamonds, while the gold back prevents the silver from tarnishing and potentially staining skin or clothing.
The front is set with eighteen rose-cut diamonds of various shapes and sizes, the largest with a diameter of 6 mm.
