This set consists of four glass whiskey noggins with a hand-cut starburst on the base and a sterling silver flip lid. Each noggin also has a shield-shaped whiskey label.
The set comes in a black storage box, lined with a green velvet interior, making it a perfect gift.
The whisky noggin is traditionally considered to be of Scottish origin. It was a popular serving device in the early 20th Century, designed to serve an individual portion of 30 ml of whiskey, which was often used to take to bed.
Each nogging is hallmarked for sterling silver (925/1000), Birmingham, 1912 and the maker
Hukin & Heath. Three of the whiskey labels are hallmarked for sterling silver (925/1000), Birmingham, 1915, and the same maker, Hukin & Heath. One has no marks and is likely a silver plated replacement.
